Headteacher's Welcome
Welcome to Lakelands Primary School, a vibrant and nurturing educational community in Stanway, Colchester, established in September 2020.
At Lakelands, our pupils are more than just students; they are ambassadors who embody the values of happiness, encouragement, respect, nurturing, and challenge. They are the young leaders who shape our school and pave the way for future generations.
We provide an exceptional environment where children can thrive and receive an aspirational education. Our passionate teachers create engaging and meaningful learning experiences across all subjects, including the arts, design and technology (with a specialist space for food preparation), humanities, physical education, and computing. By the time our pupils leave Year 6, they are confident, compassionate members of society, ready for the next step in their educational journey. They understand the importance of community and values such as mutual respect, positive relationships, and helping others. Our pupils are prepared to be responsible global citizens, equipped with the knowledge and skills to make a positive impact on the world.
Personal, social, and emotional learning is a cornerstone of our curriculum. Our 'family dining' lunchtime service helps children develop essential life skills like table manners, pouring their own water, and setting the table, with support for our youngest pupils. Staff dine with the children, fostering healthy eating habits and building strong relationships outside the classroom. Mental health and wellbeing are integral to our curriculum, with key texts and themes interwoven throughout. We are also committed to being an actively anti-racist school.
As part of the CLP multi-academy trust, we are proud to collaborate with our family of schools to ensure that every child's experience at Lakelands is memorable and successful.
I look forward to partnering with you as we embark on your child's learning journey together.
